Cuckoo for Cucamelons!

Get ready for some fun pickles!!

This week at board president @lolz_itsemily ‘s garden she set up a garden arch for her gherkin plants to trellis up for easy picking and maximum airflow for the plants !Gherkins AKA mouse melons, sour gherkins or cucamelons are a very small bit size cucumber that make for a fun treat or delicious refrigerator pickles!

If you may recall last summer where Emily suggested using @oldmrbailiwicks pickling spice for your pickling adventures, be sure to snag some soon as we will definitely have gherkins at our next @mount_vernon_farmers_market and Martinsburg Activity Center markets !

And we learned that these little cutie cucamelons are a favorite treat for the goats at @countrycolorsgreenhouse!

Cucamelons: The Adorable Miniature Fruit!

Have you ever heard of cucamelons? These tiny fruits are like a cross between a cucumber and a watermelon, but they are the size of a grape! They are also known as "mouse melons" or "Mexican sour gherkins."

Despite their small size, cucamelons pack a punch of flavor! They taste like a tangy cucumber with a hint of sourness, making them a unique and refreshing snack.

Not only are cucamelons cute and fun to eat, but they are also easy to grow in your garden. They thrive in warm weather and can be a great addition to salads, pickles, or simply enjoyed on their own.

Next time you're looking for a quirky and delicious treat, give cucamelons a try!
